I’ve been playing with edges lately. For this painting I purposefully wiped edges away from the form and then put some back in. The background blending into the equine form almost feels ghostly, yet alive with vibrant color.

My artistic style ranges from colorful painterly gestures to traditional realism. While my color palette and technique is diverse, my artwork is distinct. Painterly gestures, subtle movements and unusual angles are recurring themes. Whether it be horses or landscape, I insist on studying each subject I paint live. This helps me fully understand what I am painting and it’s background. It also creates a personal attachment to each artwork I create, as I am able to say 'I've been there', with each and every painting.
My commissioned and original artworks hang in homes throughout North America and I am proud to have longstanding relationships with my collectors. I started my artistic career over 13 years ago in Ontario, Canada. I relocated with my family to Portland, Oregon in the summer of 2013. I began painting landscapes in the summer of 2014, inspired by the great Pacific Northwest region we now live.
