Project for Spruce Meadows!

April 17, 2008

I received an email earlier this week inviting me to be a part of an exciting project that will be unveiled at the Masters held at Calgary’s Internationally renown show jumping facility Spruce Meadows. It is called “Le Cadeau Du Cheval”.  A mural using 238 paintings created by some of the world’s finest equine artists from Canada, USA, Peru, Australia, Finland, Germany, U.K., Dubai, South Africa, Ireland and more. How exciting is this!!

The end result is a mural which will be over 22 feet high by 18 feet wide and will include 238 paintings. Mine being one of them. 🙂 At this stage I have picked a 17″x17″ panel. It has the background colour and layout of the overall mural. I have creative freedom to create any equine themed painting I dream up within the colour tones and lines of the panel that was provided.

So when I get the panel I will be posting the project in progress here on the blog for you all to see. In the meantime, please see the website for this project http://www.muralmosaic.com/Cadeau.html and meet the rest of the artists here: http://www.muralmosaic.com/Horse/artists.html It is amazing to see I will be beside some of my favorite equestrian artists from all over the world! Now I just need to get aside the funds to get myself to Spruce to see it in person!!
